Visit the Nurse

Please be sure to check your child's head for lice.  A number of incidences of lice have been noted in our community.  Notify the health office of any new cases of lice.

If your child is not feeling well it is best to have him/her seen by your health care provider.

If your child has a fever please keep him/her home from school.  No child should return to school until he/she is fever free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication.

You can always assume that we have many illnesses here at school(especially strep throat, chickenpox, Fifths Disease, conjunctivitis, pertussis and lice).

Pertussis is a highly contagious disease that is spread through the air by coughing or sneezing.  Please have your child's persistent cough checked by his/her health care provider.

The nurse is available for emergency health problems and first aid during the school day.

The nurse administers a hearing screening to all students in grades 1, 3, and 5. A distance vision screening is administered to students in grades 1, 2, 3, and 5. All new students (including kindergarten) to the district will be screened for hearing, full vision and color perception.  Parent/Guardians will be notified via phone/mail if there are any abnormalities noted during any of the screenings.

Scoliosis Screening is mandated for those students in grade 5 who have not been checked by their private physician.

A Physical Exam is required of all new students and those in kindergarten, second and fourth grades.

Please contact Mrs. Beichert the school nurse with any questions.
